If you answered yes to these questions then a Grand Oaks Timber Frame Apprenticeship might be the right program for you. The Apprenticeship program lasts for approximately 6 weeks and during that time you will learn on and cut your own timber frame. This time period may be divided into sections if that will help your schedule. While you are here you will hand craft your own joinery and create a timber frame that is uniquely yours to take with you to your own property. You will receive personalized instruction and learn the craft in a relaxed environment. You will gain knowledge and appreciation for timber framing as a form of construction and also as a structure with great strength and beauty.
The cost of the Apprenticeship Program is dependent of the size of timber frame you chose to cut. The fee includes the timbers, personalized instruction, tools and equipment (except personal hand tools). Apprenticeship slots are limited. * No experience is required in timber framing to do an apprenticeship, but some basic skills in woodworking or carpentry and the use of power tools are required to participate as an apprentice *

PERSONAL 1 WEEK PROGRAM
If you do not have the time to do a full apprenticeship and the spring or fall timber frame workshops do not fit your schedule or are full, then a 1 WEEK PROGRAM might be an option for you. You will have the opportunity to cut and learn with an ongoing timber frame project. You will receive personalized instruction and you can schedule the week that is convenient for you. You will learn to read plans, cut joinery and learn at your own pace.
