STEP 1 - GETTING ALL THE TIMBERS ARRANGED FOR THE RAISING DAY
STEP 2 - THE BENTS GO UP
Bent 1 is temporarily braced into place.
Bent 2 is raised by hand into place.  Many hands make the work easy!
STEP 3 - THE LOFT FLOOR JOISTS ARE LIFTED INTO THEIR MORTISES
Bent 3 goes up next.
STEP 4 - THE PLATES CONNECT TOGETHER THE BENTS
STEP 5 - THE ROOF RAFTERS GO UP
The first rafter goes over Bent 1.
Then the rafter over Bent 3.
Pounding in the wooden pegs!
The middle rafter is the last to go up.
STEP 6 - THE ROOF PURLINS CONNECT
THE RAFTERS TOGETHER
STEP 7 - PLACING THE PINE BOUGH ON THE RAISED TIMBER FRAME TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE WOOD
STEP 8 - THE FINAL PHOTO OF A SUCCESSFUL HAND RAISING
STEP 9 - A WELL EARNED MEAL FOR JOB WELL DONE!
