SILL TIMBERS - STARTING WITH A GOOD FOUNDATION

8:00 - 12:00  Lay out and cutting joints of Posts and Sill timbers
12:00 - 1:00  Lunch
1:00 - 5:00  Continue cutting joints of Posts/Sills

TUESDAY
BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY!

8:00 - 12:00  Finish up the Posts
12:00 - 1:00  Lunch
1:00 - 5:00  Layout the Beams

       6:00 - ?  Bonfire and cookout at Grand Oaks  ( If you play an instrument bring it
     along )

WEDNESDAY
THOSE BAFFLING BRACES

8:00 - 12:00  Finish cutting of the Beams
12:00 - 1:00  Lunch
1:00 - 5:00  Layout of those bewildering braces (They look so easy on paper)

THURSDAY
THE PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM AND RAFTERS

8:00 - 12:00  Lay out and cut all of the braces  Determing rafter slope and lengths, Layout and cut Rafters
12:00 - 1:00  Lunch
1:00 - 5:00    Layout and cut Rafters

FRIDAY
TRIAL FITTING ALL OF THESE JOINTS (Hey they do all fit together!)
PEGGING IT TOGETHER!
8:00 - 12:00  Assembly of the Bents
12:00 - 1:00  Lunch
1:00 - 5:00  Continue the Trial fitting of the joinery


SATURDAY
RAISING DAY!

8:00 - 3:00  We will raise the timber frame and have a cookout/celebration of
the raising.




During the 1 week workshop, through a series of demonstrations and practical, hands on experience, you will cut and prepare a 14' x 16' oak timber frame that will be hand raised on the final day!
